‘Apollo 11’ journeys the years leading up to the moon landing in July 1969. The landing and Neil Armstrong’s first steps onto the lunar surface were watched by millions of people from all over the globe, furthering our knowledge of the planet we live on, where we sit in the universe and the displaying the sheer ambition and determination of the human spirit – achieving John F. Kennedy’s promise of reaching the moon by the end of the 1960s. Within a few years of Apollo 11, mankind had launched spacecraft to fly by Mars, Venus, Mercury, Jupiter, and Saturn, the launch of the International Space Station and the creation of the space shuttle program.
