Ratatouille (2007) covers the adventures of a rat called ‘Remi’, with aspirations to become a renowned French chef. The scene I have chosen to rescore is rather important, as Remi makes a run with some documents, proving that the owner of the world famous Gusteau’s restaurant proves to be a fraud. In order to emulate similar conditions of a film composer, I worked under a time pressure similar to most modern day film composers. As a result, I aimed, and managed to complete the entire film rescore in a day and a half including coming up with melodic ideas, mixing, mastering and midi programming.
